Meet the AI training team

Gareth Sykes

Co-Founder, AI Strategy Lead

Gareth brings over 40 years of leadership experience across education, retail and operations. He has held strategic roles at organisations including Durham International Study Centre, Nottingham College, Iceland Frozen Foods, Siemens and National Grid, and spent the better part of two decades leading teams through complex organisational change.

His interest in AI — and specifically generative AI — grew from a practical question: how do you get a whole workforce to actually adopt new technology, not just the enthusiasts? That question led him to develop the AI Accelerator Programme, which prioritises team-wide AI adoption over individual tool use.

Gareth leads every programme delivery, covering generative AI literacy, ChatGPT and large language model (LLM) applications, Microsoft Copilot, AI workflow automation, AI governance and ISO/IEC 42001. He is known for making AI genuinely accessible to people who consider themselves non-technical.

Pete Doherty

Co-Founder, Operations Director

Pete combines strategic business thinking with hands-on operational expertise built across more than 20 years in organisational development, process improvement and change management. His background spans multiple industries and gives him an unusually practical perspective on how AI adoption actually lands inside a business.

Where Gareth leads on AI programme delivery, Pete focuses on the operational side: making sure every client gets the post-programme support they need, managing certification and AI compliance documentation, and ensuring the AI governance frameworks we produce are ones organisations can genuinely use and audit.

Pete is the reason clients walk away with something documented and lasting — not just a training experience. His involvement does not stop at week 15. He oversees all ISO/IEC 42001 documentation, AI policy writing and ongoing compliance support.

Why we built ISO/IEC 42001 AI governance into the programme

When we started delivering AI training, most providers were focused purely on tool use — showing people how to use ChatGPT and calling it done. We could see that SMEs, particularly those in construction and regulated sectors, were going to face increasing pressure around AI governance from their larger clients and from public sector procurement. So we built the ISO/IEC 42001 compliance framework into the programme as standard. It is not an optional extra. Every organisation we work with leaves with AI governance documentation that meets international standard requirements.
